Come on in and learn more about us.
Radio Remedy is totally run by unpaid volunteers who enjoy the challenge and understand the benefits of the service that we provide to our patients.
We are a Registered Charity and with the exclusion of premises and electricity supplied by the Hospital all of our running costs are provided by our own fund raising activities and donations from local organisations.
It is a well known fact that people recover from illness faster if their spirits are kept up. Hospital Radio fulfils this role by providing musical entertainment and interesting chat.
Radio Remedy is a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association. The HBA currently represents 228 member stations in the UK.
As Caithness General Hospital covers such a remote and sizeable area with a limited public transport network in the evening, friends and family can find it hard to visit those unfortunate enough to be patients. Radio Remedy provides a means of relaying messages of comfort and a friendly voice at their bedside when their visitors cannot attend the evening visiting session.
Where to Find us on your bedside headset:
Radio Remedy can be found on Channel 4 in the following hospital wings: Henderson, Bignold and Rosebank.
We can be found on channel 1 in Queen Elizabeth wing.
