If you have a friend or loved one unfortunate enough to be admitted into Caithness General Hospital you can make them feel that little bit more at ease by having a request played for them on Radio Remedy.
It’s a tried and proven fact that simply by having a request played on our in-house Radio Station can be enough to raise patients moral and make them feel a whole lot better just like that.
It has been recorded that patients in comas or seriously ill and not responding to things happening around them can react to favourite or familiar tunes played to them on headphones. Also the sound of local voices when there are no visitors in attendance can be that boost that they need to spur them back into recovery.
I’m pretty sure that if I was in a coma and I heard Sydney D. On my radio I would find the energy to get up and flick that switch to Radio Remedy, your favourite local Hospital Radio Station.
All joking aside Radio Remedy does provide a valuable service to the Patients of Caithness General Hospital, we’re a voluntary charity, completely run by unpaid volunteers and here to help.
The first step is to request a headset for your friend or relative and fill in a request slip, available next to our post box in the Reception Foyer and post it in the Black Box. We’ll do the rest.
